An ADD COACH AND THERAPIST...
Do you need one?
An ADD coach can be very helpful... but expensive. The reason an ADD coach can be helpful is because your own coach or therapist will look at you and your family on an individual case. He or she will take your family dynamics and individual problems...and tailor a program just for you.
Be careful though. Some are no good and do not even have professional qualifications. In some states where there are few regulations, almost anyone can say he or she is a mental health therapist and open up a clinic.
If you hire a coach or therapist, make sure you have someone with a good track record and proven qualifications.

Here are some helpful hints...
- An ADHD Coach is someone who helps you deal with your ADD ADHD on a daily basis, and has practical tips you can use everyday. They can often work over the phone or even by email.
- A child psychologist will help you with your ADHD child by having the child come to his or her office for sessions or by training you to help your child or both.
There is some scientific research that indicates training the parents of ADD ADHD child works better than paying a therapist to work with the child directly.
- Family therapists work with the family as a whole, and help them find better ways of relating to one another.
- Psychotherapists and psychologists usually work with one family member at a time in office sessions. Psychotherapy may help an adult who has developed low self-esteem and social problems because of ADD ADHD.
- Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medications as well as help you with your problems during a series of office visits.
There is one study that indicates that the one biggest factors ADD ADHD people said made the most positive difference in their lives is... “having one person who believed in them.”
